A visit to the UCI Keck-CCAMS Lab provided us with not only
a look into what goes into getting an object dated, but also
the machinery used in the process. Dr. John Southon allowed my professor, a classmate
and myself to see the beginning processes as well as a tour of the lab.

He explained to us that the dating that they did in the lab had an error
of plus or minus 45 years, which, when dating such an old object, is not
too much of a problem if there are others to look at.
